Badenya
Canadh Croí presents their debut album, Badenya:
Eight tracks, masterfully weaving the complex and irresistible rhythms of West Africa together with the beautiful, flowing melodies of Ireland and Scotland, to create an exciting and original new sound. The album takes its name from a Malinke term describing concepts of social solidarity, community, and harmony.
“An inspired marriage of two cherished world music traditions. Vibrant, rich, and joyful, this is what your ears and heart want.”
— Rick Risch, Twin Cities songwriter and creator of the groundbreaking “Local Grooves” podcast.
This recording is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board , thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
